Discover Today's Motorcycling Keeps Two-Wheeling in the News, on Talk Shows and Online

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 16, 2005 - Look for examples of Discover Today's Motorcycling media work printed on display boards and up on the big screen at today's Motorcycle Industry Council Communications Symposium.

These mainstream media placements generated by DTM include a diverse range of publications such as USA Today, BusinessWeek, Stuff, Cargo, Penthouse and Heartland USA. And many of these print outlets ran the same stories and photos on their sister web sites, further extending coverage. Television segments include spots on CNN, on network and regional morning shows, local news affiliates and late-night talk shows. The symposium program will include a highlight reel with some of DTM's broadcast successes, and that of other MIC communications efforts such as Discover Today's ATV.

DTM's communications program works to build mainstream awareness, keep motorcycling fashionable and in the news. Funded by Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha, the effort benefits everyone in the industry by generating strong, positive media coverage for motorcycling.

DTM's ongoing proactive work creates and places motorcycling stories by developing strong relationships with key mainstream journalists across America, and by hosting them at newsworthy events that showcase the best of two-wheeling. In 2005, DTM staged media activities at AMA Supercross races, at Daytona International Raceway, at the MotoGP in Monterey, Calif., and on the scenic backroads of Upstate New York, where Manhattan media could sample new 2005 models. Beside collateral items from photos to video, guests are routinely provided with story-starting information, extensive background and interviews with key industry executives, motorcycling experts and even factory racing stars.

And DTM fields hundreds of media calls and responds to all manner of media needs, from statistical information, new product details, to demo bike requests, and motorcycles for photo shoots.
